James had not seemed to want to be taken from the cold depths of the water: had fought Magnus as he dragged him out, then laid his pale cheek against the dank earth of the riverbank, and hid his face in his arms.

Cassandra Clare's tumblr background aka: The Place Holder Art for The Bane Chronicles

The Bane Chronicles are coming out in less than three months and now we have some Bane cover art!
This was found on the background of Cassandra Clare tumblr page this morning, and later today, Cassie and Sarah Rees Brennan (co-author of The Bane Chronicles) confirm it is the place holder art of The Bane Chronicles.
Here's what Cassie had to say:
Rule of thumb: THE SHADOWHUNTERS OF TUMBLR NOTICE EVERYTHING! Yes, that is the placeholder art for the Bane Chronicles. It isn’t the final cover, because they have to shoot a model for that, but it’s Magnus’ wizardy hand shooting blue fire, so that’s something!
And here's what Sarah Rees Brennan had to say:
You guys noticed this. ;) Isn’t it pretty? Magnus’s colour is totally blue, and also I just think—well, I have never been part of such a FANCY endeavour before, so I was excited to behold this. A placeholder cover of great prettiness before the cover of great foxiness! (Trust me it will be.)

The Bane Chronicles Release Date Pushed Back

Originally, The Bane Chronicles were expected to be published in February.
Cassandra Clare tells us due to publishing, creating a cover, etc. the first chapter of The Bane Chronicles will be released in April instead of February.
I am actually still waiting on some details — the first installment is likely to be out closer to April than February, just because of the amount of time it takes in production to get it ready for Amazon, and the amount of time to create a cover, etc. After that they should come out roughly every month online until there have been ten. At some point after that, for those who do not like reading things online, they will be bound up into a book.
Also, each ebook of The Bane Chronicles will cost about $1-3
Each installment will be priced at something reasonable for what is basically a novella (somewhere between 1 and 3 dollars I’d guess) and the cover will be like a regular Mortal Instruments book, featuring Magnus, and for the online publication it will be broken up into ten sections, which as each installment is released will come together to form one big picture.
However, due to this tragic news, Cassie reveals a snippet from The Bane Chronicles written by Sarah Rees Brennan

Dec: 31, 1st Bane Chronicles snippet

The Bane Chronicles: What Really Happened in Peru
by Sarah Rees Brennan and Cassandra Clare
“Just don’t leave me here,” said Ragnor. “You have to swear, Bane.”
Magnus raised his eyebrows. “I give you my word of honor!”
“I mean it,” Ragnor told him. “I will find you. I will find whatever chest of absurd clothes you have brought with you. And I will bring a llama into the place where you sleep and make sure that it urinates on everything in the chest.”
“There is no need to get nasty about this,” Magnus said. “Don’t worry. I can teach you every word that you need to know right now. One of them is ‘fiesta.’”
Ragnor scowled. “What does that mean?”
“It means ‘party.’ Another important word is ‘juerga.’”
“What does that word mean?”
Magnus was silent.
“Magnus,” said Ragnor, his voice stern. “Does that word also mean ‘party’?”
Magnus could not help the sly grin that spread across his face. “I would apologize,” he said. “But I have no regrets.”
What do you think of the Bane Chronicles so far?
